The paper characterizes various versions of the idea of practical foundations of the forms of thought from Kant through Fichte and Hegel to Marx and his followers and compares it with Wittgenstein's and Davidson's location of meaning into the context of human activities.

Hartmann's is an important representative of one branch of the phenomenological movement. His philosophy is based on the results of special sciences, too, what is not typical for the phenomenological movement in a general way.
